PMW Expo 2026 will host two specialist, in-person vehicle dynamics sessions, each designed for a different level of knowledge and experience. 

Introduction to Vehicle Dynamics in F1 is a full-day course for engineering students, Formula Student team members, recent graduates and early-career professionals. It introduces the principles behind race car behaviour, handling and performance, and no prior vehicle dynamics knowledge is required. 

Simulation and Transient Handling Analysis in Motorsport is a four-hour advanced workshop for professional engineers, technical specialists, researchers and university educators who already understand the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics. It examines how simulation and vehicle models can be used to investigate transient behaviour and support real-world performance decisions. 

Both sessions are delivered by Javier Bermejo and Alex Burg of Racetrack Dynamics, bringing together structured technical teaching and experience from Formula 1 engineering environments.

Which course is right for you?

Develop foundation or advanced vehicle dynamics knowledge

The two sessions are not alternative versions of the same course. They begin at different points and are designed to meet different learning needs.

The introductory course builds a structured understanding of the systems that influence race car performance. The advanced workshop begins further along, using existing vehicle dynamics knowledge as the basis for exploring simulation, modelling and transient response.

The clearest way to choose is to consider your current understanding rather than your job title or years of experience.

Introduction to vehicle dynamics in F1

Build a structured understanding of the principles behind race car handling, balance and performance with technical insight and practical examples drawn from Formula 1.

This course is best suited to:

  • Engineering students and recent graduates
  • Formula Student team members
  • Early-career engineers
  • Professionals preparing to move into vehicle dynamics, simulation or performance engineering
  • Anyone who has encountered parts of vehicle dynamic but has not yet developed a complete foundation

 

Your starting point

No prior vehicle dynamics knowledge is required. The course is designed to remain accessible while still providing genuine technical depth.

Some prior vehicle dynamics knowledge is expected. Attendees should already understand the main principles of vehicle behaviour and be ready to examine how those principles are represented and investigated through simulation.
