Richard Cornwell is Technical Specialist and Team Leader in Ricardo’s Performance Development department. He has over 30 years’ experience in developing performance, emissions, and efficiency attributes of all types of ICE, from small displacement <10kW through to multi-megawatt powerplants, for a range of applications including industrial, automotive, marine, aerospace, and motorsport. In 2006, he was performance development lead for JCB’s Dieselmax streamliner and its power unit which holds the FIA land speed record for Diesel power. In 2026, he reprised this role for JCB’s Hydromax programme.
