High-performance mobility demands shorter development cycles, lower weight and increasingly complex components, while performance, reliability and sustainability must improve in parallel. This presentation explores how artificial intelligence can support additive manufacturing across the development chain. Fraunhofer IAPT’s broader activities in AI-enabled manufacturing will illustrate how digital methods can help identify relevant development routes, reduce iteration loops and support more informed engineering decisions. The talk concludes with an outlook on how integrated, data-driven workflows can accelerate the transition from promising concepts to manufacturable high-performance components.
