Beginning with a broad overview of the issues, it will focus on the technical challenges presented by the need to balance the originality of the vehicles with the requirements of modern safety. It will also discuss the cost balance of originality against the availability of updated components. Both issues present challenges to historic racing in terms of viability, cost and development.
