Liras Optical designs and manufactures custom polycarbonate windshields for racing cars and motorsport applications, where optical quality, weight reduction and impact resistance are essential.
Each windshield is developed from customer drawings, samples or technical specifications, with geometry, configuration and surface treatments selected to meet the vehicle’s design and installation requirements. Flat and curved components are available in monolithic or laminated configurations, supporting prototype development and low-volume production.
Depending on the application, windshields can incorporate:
- Hard coating to improve resistance to scratching and surface abrasion.
- Anti-fog treatment on the inner surface to help maintain clear visibility in humid conditions.
- Integrated tungsten micro-wire heating within laminated structures for active demisting and defrosting.
- Perimeter screen printing and precision machining to suit the component’s geometry and assembly requirements.
Our production process combines forming, CNC machining and functional treatments, followed by optical and visual inspection and final testing before delivery.
