Custom polycarbonate and PMMA rear windows for motorsport
Each rear window is developed from customer drawings, samples or technical specifications, with material, geometry and treatments selected to match the vehicle’s design and installation requirements. Components are available in monolithic or laminated configurations, supporting prototype development and low-volume production.
Depending on the application, rear windows can incorporate:
- Hard coating to improve resistance to scratching and surface abrasion.
- Anti-fog treatment to help maintain clear rear visibility.
- Integrated micro-wire heating within laminated structures for active demisting and defrosting.
- Perimeter screen printing and precision CNC machining to suit the component’s geometry and assembly requirements.
Our production process combines forming, precision machining and functional treatments, followed by optical and visual inspection and final testing before delivery.
For GT, rally and endurance projects, Liras Optical develops rear glazing from new designs or team-supplied samples, adapting each component to the project’s technical requirements.
