Italtecnica Orion V12

Italtecnica s.r.l. Hall: 10.1 Stand: 2020
Orion V12 is a naturally aspirated 6.8-liter 65° engine engineered to deliver a raw, unfiltered driving experience. Developed under the guidance of former Formula 1 and rally engineer Claudio Lombardi, the project eschews supercharging and artificial electronic aids, relying instead on advanced fluid dynamics like RAM air intake and Helmholtz resonance to achieve instantaneous throttle response and an authentic high-revving sound.
The powertrain is a complete showcase of race-derived craftsmanship. Weighing under 200 kg, it features a CNC-machined billet aluminum block, forged connecting rods, ceramic-coated pistons, titanium valves with finger rocker arms, and an F1-style gear-cascade timing system. A dry-sump lubrication system with an 8-stage oil pump allows for an ultra-low engine placement while ensuring continuous pressure under extreme cornering forces.

Despite its aggressive racing DNA, meticulous combustion design enables the Orion to meet Euro 6 emissions standards for road use. The road-legal setup produces approximately 850 hp at 8,500 rpm, while an unconstrained track-day variant unleashes over 900 hp at 9,500 rpm with a screaming 10,200 rpm limiter. Built strictly to order for low-volume hypercars and private collectors, every Orion V12 is fully customizable, offering a bespoke masterpiece rooted in pure mechanical engineering.
